to simplify: churches are forbidden to promote specific political parties or candidates, in order to maintain tax-exempt status. no religious institution is allowed to make explicit political statements, including “this party is bad,” “this party is good,” “you should vote for x,” “you should not vote for x,” or “let’s raise money for x political party or campaign.” all of those things are super illegal! if they’re going to act as a political entity, they need to pay taxes like any other political entity! report their asses!!!!

Does anyone else share the experience of being a kid and loving to play outside or with toys with your friends roleplaying different characters in different situations, and then suddenly you got older and none of your friends wanted to play those games anymore, they saw them as too childish, while for you, nothing changed? You didn't realize that the last time you played The Pokemon Game outside would really be the last time. The idea never stopped appealing to you but it did to everyone else, so you stopped playing those games just because you no longer had anyone to play them with.
And as an adult you tried to get into D&D and the like and it was fun sometimes, but there were so many rules and constraints and all you really wanted was to go back to those games of unlimited imagination that you played as a child. Maybe you got into roleplay with strangers online as a teen. Maybe that wasn't the safest thing to have done. And now you write stories and experience maladaptive daydreaming the same way you always did as a kid, but some of the fun and joy is gone because you can't share the very process of your imagination with your friends the way you used to.
Sometimes I think that I would still be running around outside, pretending I was a Medieval Knight or a Pokemon trainer or a Saiyan warrior with my friends, if they still wanted to. Sometimes I think I never really grew up.
